Pilot Photo/Daniel Riordan The Veterans Theraputic Art Center will now be located in the upstairs of the Old Firehouse building.

I wrote about my meeting with the guys from VTAC (Veterans Therapeutic Art Center) a few months back.  You can read that post here or you can bring up several related posts by typing VTAC in the search box to the right.  There was an article in today’s Pilot News talking about their new home on the second floor of the Old Firehouse in downtown Plymouth, Indiana.  You can read that article here.

I’m pleased to see them doing well and continuing their good work.  Congratulations on the new digs guys!

Today is the 100th Anniversary of the Federal Income Tax

Image borrowed from Kinvalley.comI just read on The Foundry that the Federal Income Tax is 100 years old  today.  It was brought about with the ratification of 16th Amendment to the Constitution:  “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”    Is it possible congress had any idea what they wrought back in 1913?

Happy Indiana Day!

Image borrowed from zazzle.comIn 1925, the Indiana General Assembly provided for the designation of December 11 as Indiana Day. By law (Indiana Code 1-1-10) “The governor shall issue a proclamation annually designating the eleventh day of December as Indiana Day” and citizens are urged to celebrate “in appropriate and patriotic observance of the anniversary of the admission of the state of Indiana into the Union.”  Reference here.
