Over our many decades, Easterday Construction has worked with many developers and property owners to build, renovate and repair/maintain multi-family properties. Two of our main clients in this area have been Garden Court, Inc. and Culver Sand Hill Farm LLC.
Garden Court, Inc. – Easterday Construction Co., Inc. has been working with Garden Court since 1998 when we began construction on the Argos Garden Court project in Argos, Indiana. Garden Court is a not for profit organization located in Plymouth, Indiana. They are dedicated to establishing affordable housing for the elderly in Plymouth and surrounding communities in northern Indiana. They provide these services through HUD grants, establishing 501(c)3 corporations for each individual project location.
Reverend Ronald Liechty was founding President of Garden Court and Mr. Dean Byers served as Vice President. They worked with a dedicated board of other volunteers to shepherd communities through their in-kind support as they establish new projects throughout their service area. Ron and Dean have passed the torch, but their mission continues.
B.A. Martin Architects, P.C. (now SRKM Architecture) has been the architectural design firm for all of the Garden Court projects constructed by Easterday Construction Co., Inc. They also designed several previous projects before we became involved. Our working relationship has been a good one and we have collaborated with them for many years on many projects beyond these with Garden Court.
Garden Court, Inc. is a true not-for-profit. They have no staff and the Garden Court board and officers receive no compensation. All of the money received is put into property improvements. Garden Court contracts management of their facilities to Bradley Company in South Bend, IN.
Easterday Construction has participated with Garden Court on the following projects:
Culver Sand Hill Farm LLC – In 2014, the Town of Culver completed a new Comprehensive Plan coordinated by Houseal Lavigne. One of the main goals was to provide additional affordable house. An Entry Level Housing Committee was formed to address this issue, in which Easterday Construction participated. Attempts to attract a developer to Culver were unsuccessful, so in 2016, Culver Sand Hill Farm LLC was formed to meet this need. Since that time, Culver Sand Hill Farm has partnered with Easterday Construction to continue serving the Marshall County community with various multi-family housing projects:
