Today is the 100th Anniversary of the Federal Income Tax

Image borrowed from Kinvalley.comI just read on The Foundry that the Federal Income Tax is 100 years old  today.  It was brought about with the ratification of 16th Amendment to the Constitution:  “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”    Is it possible congress had any idea what they wrought back in 1913?
