Example of a retrofit ramp from rampstoyou.com
An article in the April 2013 edition of Money Magazine made me think about all the accessibility projects we have done over the years. On page 81, Item #7, CPA Aaron Barlev suggests, “And don’t overlook anything: Health-related home renovations, such as installing a therapeutic pool to treat your back, can qualify.”
This reminded me of a project we did last Spring for a long time friend and client in Plymouth. We built a ramp in the garage and renovated the bathroom with an accessible shower. We also did miscellaneous renovation all around the house to help the client when they came home from an extended hospital stay. I’ll need to remind them that the work is deductible!
