Kevin L. Berger Resume

I have been President of Easterday Construction Co., Inc. since 2003. We are a commercial/industrial general contractor which specializes in turn-key construction projects. We also have electricians on staff.

My degree is in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University. After graduation I initially worked for six years at Southern Civil Engineers in Atlanta, Georgia doing everything from drafting, to subdivision design to project management. I only recently dropped my Indiana Landscape Architecture license.

I am a nearly life-long resident of Culver, Indiana. I am active in the Culver Community currently serving on the following boards and committees:

  • Marshall County Economic Development Corporation – I served on the Task Force that created MCEDC in 2006. I have served as the Culver Town Council appointment to the MCEDC Board since MCEDC’s inception in 2007 and have served as Chair, Vice Chair and currently serve as Secretary/Treasurer.
  • Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Fund – I retired from this board in 2018 after 20 years of service. (Good luck to them!)
  • Culver Entry Level Housing Committee – I have served on the Entry Level Housing Committee since it’s inception in 2014 and represented Culver at the regional Affordable Housing Conference in Chicago.
  • Culver Plan Commission  Zoning Committee – I am currently serving on the committee to review the Zoning Ordinance and bring in line with the recently updated Comprehensive Plan. I served on the previous zoning review committee and served on the committees that updated the last two Comprehensive Plans.
  • Marshall County Community Foundation – I represent the Culver area on the Board of the Community Foundation and serve on the Grants Committee and the Investment Committee. I have served on the MCCF Board since 2012.
  • Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana/Kentucky – I have served as an ABC State Board representative since 1993.
  • Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation – I have served on the PIDCO board since 2014.

Previous or current non-board involvement:

  • Culver Chamber of Commerce – My Company remains a member of the Chamber. Personally I served on the board of directors for 13 years, holding several offices.
  • Culver Second Century Committee – I served on the founding committee that created this group as the long range planning committee for the Culver Chamber of Commerce. The group grew to encompass representations from most of the volunteer organizations and municipal boards in town. It inspired a Needs Assessment, a Charrette and a new Comprehensive Plan around the time of Culver’s 200th birthday – thus its name. I served on the Steering Committee for 8 years.
  • Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Council – This is the working arm of the LMEF. I served on the Council for two terms, 6 years, and served two terms as chairman of the Council.
